The applications are open for the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program(JJ/WBGSP) for the academic year 2010-11. Each year, the Program awards scholarships to individuals from World Bank member countries to undertake graduate studies at renowned universities throughout member countries of the Bank.

The positions are currently internationally advertised and will be filled through a process of application, selection and personal interviews in Mainz.
Applicants must hold a master degree (or equivalent) in chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics or related fields. Additionally, applicants must be fluent in English. Knowledge of German is not essential but advantageous. To judge the quality of the exams, we follow international standards. Competition for the available positions is strong. To be considered for the program, the final grade of the degree must be equivalent or better to the grade “very good” (final degree at least 1.3-1.5) in the German educational system.
