Split Phd and Post Doctoral Fellowship Programme in France
The Higher Education Commission and the French Embassy in Pakistan aim to help the development of cooperation between French and Pakistani scientific organisations, engaged in R&D programs of all the scientific and technology fields. In this framework, the Higher Education Commission and the French Embassy in Pakistan launch a joint program for research mobility. This fellowship program is intended for highly qualified Pakistani doctoral and postdoctoral scientists and offers them an excellent opportunity to do research in France for 6 to 9 months. Knowledge of French language is not necessary.

Eligibility Criteria
1. For Split PhD fellowship (6 months in France)
- Any Pakistani /AJK National PhD student.
- Complied with the following HEC quality criteria for PhD degree:
- Completed coursework of 18 credit hours, (students enrolled in PhD before May 2005 are exempted from this condition),
- Passed the international GRE subject test (applicable only for PhD students of Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Literature in English, Mathematics, Physics and Psychology). In other subjects, NTS (subject) examination or university subject examination is required to be passed.
- Has an approved PhD research topic and synopsis by the Board of Advanced Studies and Research (BASR) or Directorate of Advanced Studies and Research (DASR) or equivalent body of the university.
- Has an official acceptance/invitation letter for research from a French university/institute/laboratory.
2. For Post-Doctoral Fellowship (09 months in France)
- Any Pakistani /AJK National.
- Holding a PhD degree from HEC recognized university.
- Maximum 50 years of age on 31st December, 2010.
- Be a regular employee of:
- HEC recognized Public/ Private Sector University or Degree Awarding Institute.
- Public sector R&D organization.
- Have a clearly written research proposal, relevant to his current job/institution recommended/endorsed by the employer.
- Has an official acceptance/invitation letter for research from a French university/institute/laboratory.
- Must not have availed Post Doctoral Fellowship in the last five (5) years.
How To Apply
- Application Forms completely filled in all respects along with all the required documents should be sent by courier service on or before 31st December, 2010.
- Starting date of the fellowship is June 2011 onwards
- Incomplete applications in any aspect or received after due dates will not be entertained.
